Designation: Assistant (Clerical Cadre)
Total Number of Seats: 5092
Crucial Dates: 
Availability of Online Registration and Payment link: 26th May, 2014 to 14th June, 2014
Availability of Offline Payment: 28th May, 2014 to 17th June, 2014
Essential Qualification: 
Candidates should hold the degree in any disciplines from the recognized university with respect to 31st of August, 2014. Those who are in final year of qualifying exam can also apply provided they are in the situation of furnishing result before or upto cutoff date.  
Essential Age:  
The candidates should have an age in between 20 years to 28 years with respect to 1st of May, 2014. Relaxation of SC & ST of 5 years, OBC of 3 years and PWD of 10 years in their maximum age will be granted. For other categories’ relaxation in maximum age, please refer the official notice.
Way of Selection:
 Online test will be conducted by Bank for shortlisting candidates for the interview. The written test date will tentatively be hold in July/August on different dates. The persons shortlisted will be invited for Interview. 
Pattern of SBI Clerk Exam:  
The mode of test will be online and the test covers General English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Marketing & Computer and General Awareness. Each section will carry 40 Marks total making 200 Marks. Exam duration will be 2 hours 15 minutes. 
Pay Scale of Assistant: 7200-400/3-8400-500/3-9900-600/4-12300-700/7-17200-1300/1-18500-800/1-19300 (under review)
Application Cost: 
 The payment of application fee can be done through online (Internet Banking/Master/Visa/Debit or Card) or offline (challan form). Through challan form, candidates can pay fee in any of the State Bank of India branches across country. The amount of application fee to be paid by different categories is given below:
1. General & Other Backward Class: INR 450/-
2. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Ex-servicemen and PWD: INR 100/- 
Method of Application:
 The online registration of application can be done through online and the link will be activated from 26th of May, 2014. Candidates should prepare scanned file of their photo and signature so as to use it in the online registration process. Closing date to apply online is 14th of June, 2014.

The candidates selected in the clerical posts are paid emoluments as per the Award Staff in the employer bank; the starting pay will be around Rs. 14,200 p.m. + D.A. + Other Allowances as applicable.

About SBI Clerical Exam:
The recruitment for the State Bank of India Clerical posts is done through a written exam and interview conducted solely for this purpose. The exam is usually organized by the SBI in the month of September/ October at the SBI prescribed centres. The candidates will be informed about the examination and application details one to two months prior to the date of conduct of test. 
Scheme of Examination:
The examination consists of objective type questions in the following main sections:
I. General Awareness
II.General English
III.Quantitative Aptitude
IV.Reasoning Ability
V.Marketing Aptitude/ Computer Knowledge
The candidates will have to pass in each section as decided by the Bank on the basis of the candidate performance in the test. The candidates are also required to obtain the min. number of marks in the Interview for finally selected to the post concerned.
There is no negative marking in the written test; however, there will be a loss of one-fourth marks for each wrong answer of the candidate. 
Eligibility for the Exam:
The candidates in order to be eligible for the SBI Clerk exam should be Intermediate /Class 12th passed with a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS) marks as the minimum qualification for this post. The candidates can be either a Diploma course passed of minimum two years duration after High School from any State Board of Technical Education or any recognized institution for this purpose.
Age Eligibility:
The candidates minimum age should be 18 years and maximum age should be 28 years w.e.f. the date of conduct of exam. The age relaxation to the backward class candidates is given as follows:
SC/ ST: 5 Years
Other Backward Classes: 3 Years
PWD (Gen): 10 Years
PWD (SC/ ST): 15 Years
PWD (OBC): 13 Years
